Who We Are:
  The Law Office of David Goren, LLC consists of four attorneys, two paralegals, two secretaries/ receptionists, and an office manager:

David Goren is the senior attorney in the Office. He received a Juris Doctorate from the University of Maryland Law School in 1973 and a Master’s Degree in Teaching Clinical Legal Education from the Antioch School of Law in 1978. He has taught Immigration and Nationality Law at several area law schools and has given numerous community presentations on the rights of aliens in the United States.

Mr. Goren has represented aliens and U.S. citizens in all areas of Immigration and Nationality Law in private practice since 1978. He has represented aliens before the Immigration and Nationality Service and the Immigration Courts in Washington, D.C.; Arlington, Virginia; Baltimore, Maryland; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; New York, New York; Boston, Massachusetts; Buffalo, New York; Detroit, Michigan; Chicago, Illinois; Seattle, Washington; Oakdale, Louisiana; and Harlingen and Houston, Texas. He has corresponded extensively with U.S. Consulates around the world.

Mr. Goren has been a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association for more than 30 years.

Andrew Barreto, Andrew earned a J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law in May of 2012. He is admitted to practice State Law In Maryland and Federal Immigration Law throughout the United States. He also has an undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University. Originally from Maryland, he has lived in Spain and Ecuador, and is fluent in both Spanish and English.

Andrew has several years of experience working in immigration law, both as a student attorney representing clients at the University of Maryland School of Law Immigration Clinic, and as a legal intern in the Office of the Chief Counsel at U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS). While working at an international distribution company in Ecuador, he was involved in securing visas for company employees to perform business-related duties in the U.S.

Tania Guerrero, joined Law Office of David Goren in 2015. As an immigration attorney, Tania focuses on deportation defense litigation, affirmative and defensive asylums, family-based petitions and humanitarian relief, including Special Immigrant Juvenile States matters. Previously, Tania provided legal assistance to adults, unaccompanied minors and families fleeing violence in their home countries. Prior to that, Tania engaged in advocacy for immigrant’s rights in her native Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. She also served as a criminal defense attorney to detained first-time offenders in Monterrey, N.L., Mexico. Tania is a graduate of Universidad de Monterrey and holds an MA in International Law and Human Rights from the U.N. mandated University for Peace. She is a member of the D.C. and Mexican Bars. She is a native Spanish speaker and is fluent in English

  Walter Ortega, originally from Peru, has over 18 years of experience as an immigration paralegal. He is fluent in Spanish and English.   Claus Ricardo Ortega, Immigration Paralegal, with many years of experience in Immigration Law, office administration and Internet. Previously he worked with Ayuda, an non-governmental organization. He is fluent in English and Spanish. He was born in Hawaii, Peru.  

Secretaries / Receptionists:
Helena Ammar, originally from El Salvador, is responsible for administrative organization and billing. She is fluent in Spanish and English.   Ana De Leon, whose background is Salvadorian and Guatemalan, is responsible for appointment scheduling, receipts, and mail. She is fluent in Spanish and English.
